Gilbert Simson Gattang:Attending Professor Richard Chambers’s masterclass was truly inspiring and offered profound insights into the evolving role of auditors as strategictrusted advisors. Drawing from decades of experience, he clearly articulated how personal integrity, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and dynamic communication form the foundation of trust. What stood out most was his holistic framework- balancing personal, relational, and professional attributes (how audit in appearance and audit in fact)- that goes beyond technical competence to shape truly impactful auditors. The emphasis on being results-focused, intellectually curious, and ethically resilient resonates deeply with our development as future audit professionals. These lessons are not just relevant to our academic journey at Nanjing Audit University, but will be invaluable as we transition into the professional world. The principles shared by Professor Chambers will undoubtedly guide us in building credibility, driving meaningful change, and earning a seat at the table in our future careers.
Fatmata Binta Bah:The phrase “Outstanding Auditors of Tomorrow” perfectly captures the essence of Richard F. Chambers’s Masterclass on The Trusted Advisor, which inspired me to see auditing beyond routine tasks and compliance. Chambers emphasized that outstanding auditors must rise above the basics, develop both professionally and personally, and earn trust through competence, relationships, and integrity to become valued voices at the decision-making table. In today’s fast-changing, technology-driven world, where AI reshapes controls and systems, his message about “staying relevant” is more important than ever, reminding us that auditors must evolve into trusted advisors who offer foresight and insight that technology cannot replace. The session was engaging, energetic, and deeply insightful; Chambers’s passion and interactive teaching made every moment impactful. It was truly a privilege to learn from him, and the experience strengthened my resolve to become an outstanding auditor of tomorrow, one who is ethical, curious, relational, and ever ready to add value.
